Financial Information

Track 1: Incoming Freshmen to the UA can qualify for full funding 

Students will receive this funding 
after signing a contract to join 
the Arizona Arabic Flagship Program 
 
Track 2: High School Juniors and Seniors
benefit from an 89% tuition reduction

Remaining tuition/fees after reduction are about $600 per session

Students may apply for scholarships

Funded Summer Arabic for High School Students 

JUMPSTART your university career this summer! 
Earn 5-10 college credits in the summer at one of the top U.S. Arabic programs 

The University of Arizona Arabic Jumpstart Program allows high school juniors and seniors as well as incoming Freshmen to the UA to take an intensive Arabic summer course on campus for college credit at a reduced tuition rate and with scholarship support. The program includes a diverse range of in-class activities that boost students' knowledge of the Arabic language and Arab cultures.

2020 ARABIC JUMPSTART PROGRAM
Session I: June 8 - July 9 
Session II: July 13 - August 12 
 
JUMPSTART SCHEDULE
Arabic classes run 8:30 am - 12:30 pm followed by afternoon activities, office hours, and mentoring/tutoring.
 
CHECK-IN IN EARLY MARCH  
Applicants are notified about Arabic JUMPSTART acceptances and possible scholarships by May 15th.
 
SCHOLARSHIPS AND FINANCIAL AID
Pre-collegiate scholarships available, depending on Jumpstart track pursued (see below).  
 
TWO JUMPSTART TRACKS
Track 1: Jumpstart to Flagship 
Eligibility: Current high school seniors joining the University of Arizona as freshmen in Fall 2020 who plan to join the prestigious Arizona Arabic Flagship Program. Applicants pursuing any major qualify for this track and can benefit from study abroad and funding opportunities in the Flagship Program. Fully Funded: This track offers full funding for Summer Session I and/or Session II (tuition, fees, tutoring, college mentoring and advising, cultural activities, food at reception and cultural events only, and Arabic-speaking housing with male and female chaperones if students live on campus). 
 
Track 2: Jumpstart to College 
Eligibility: Rising high school juniors and seniors from anywhere in the U.S. who are motivated to:
1) Receive college credit
2) Get exposure to college life
3) Pursue advanced Arabic
Funding: ​​Offers large tuition reduction. Cultural activities and food at reception and cultural events will be covered by the program along with tutoring, college mentoring and advising. Remaining tuition/fees expenses after reduction are close to $600 per session. Applicants interested in scholarships to cover fully or partially the remaining $600 per session may apply for funding while completing the application form.
   

 
HOUSING FOR STUDENTS
The Arizona Arabic Special Programs staff will set up housing for students who are eligible. 
For On-Campus housing, the cost is $770 per summer session.
