David will address the various long-standing myths in the history of inter-ethnic and interreligious identities in medieval and early modern Iberia. His aim is to re-ground discussion of these subjects in a realistic and informed approach. Dr. Graizbord received his PhD in History at the University of Michigan in 2000, and has several major publications including: “Souls in Dispute: Converso Identities in Iberia and the Jewish Diaspora, 1580-1700” (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2004), “Jewish History/Historiya Yehudit: Special Issue on Portuguese New Christian Identities, 1516-1700” (Graizbord & Stuczynski, 2011), and his forthcoming publication “The New Zionists: Young American Jews, Jewish National Identity, and Israel” (Lexington books).
