Dr. Zawan Al Bulushi is an Assistant Professor of Practice in the W.A. Franke Honors College and Affiliate Faculty in MENAS. She is originally from Oman, where she lived for more than 30 years before moving to the United States. Zawan is a native Arabic speaker with deep cultural knowledge of the Middle East. She holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction from Indiana University Bloomington and has extensive experience teaching in both K–12 and higher education in the US and Oman.
 
Zawan supports MENAS through curriculum design, mentoring students on Arabian Gulf and Oman topics, and contributing to research on the region’s education, culture, and society. She also gives guest lectures and leads workshops on AI in Arabic language teaching and MENAS focused research, connecting traditional and emerging perspectives.
